The State Department of Education (SDE) is hosting an Emergency Operations Planning (EOP) and Cyber Bullying & Internet Safety for Idaho schools and stakeholders. This seminar is provided in partnership with CS Consulting Corp, SDE's safety and security contractor, and is a key component to Superintendent Luna's priority to make Idaho schools safer. Emergency Operations / Crisis Teams
Topics discussed would include initiation of the emergency operation plan, appropriate response and assignment of responsibilities, initial command and control issues to include communications, transportation and other logistic concerns. The training day will culminate in a team exercise to reinforce the information presented.
Online Bullying and Harassment / Social Networking & Internet Safety
Online Bullying and harassment is one of the most prevalent problems facing students, parents' educators and school personnel today. We often overlook the impact that online activities outside of school have on the school environment. Many students feel that adults cannot recognize nor do anything about bullying and harassment online and simply let it go unchecked. This offering will help adults bridge that gap between students and adults in addressing online bullying and making participants more confident in their approach to addressing these issues within their own spheres of influence.
